Thanks, Susan, for introducing us to this video. It's COOL! (said with an American accent) I recommend this video, esp. the message at the very last minute. If colleagues have difficulty in playing it via their trust network, or havne't got even 5 mins, or like me who have never watched Back to the Future or Dr Who, just scroll to the last minute and get the key message.
The message of this video echos my presentation at yesterday's Library Managers' Forum ... Are libraries meeting millennial expectations? Our users are technology-rich, whereas our libraries are struggling in meeting their needs and library staff still shy away from technologies. This is evident from the discouraging comments I received while promoting 3Cs to colleagues. I agree with the video that library staff should be on top of emerging technology and there is the need for information literacy for library staff. I also agree that, in order to do so, what library staff needs is just their job and 15 mins a day to play with technology.
